Standard equipment
Good quality, comfortable walking boots are essential for an endurance challenge
of this level, as are good walking socks. Suitable boots should be able to
be worn all day with no discomfort.
Given the length of the Welsh 3000s, a backpack will also be needed, to carry
all of the below, ideally with a water bladder.
- Water
- Map and compass
- Headtorch
- Waterproofs
- Spare socks
- Mobile phone / radio
Four Peaks Challenge maps
Optional equipment
- Camera
- Walking poles
- Hat and gloves
- Fleece
- Toilet paper
- Emergency blanket
- Flare
- Plasters
Nutrition
Depending on your preferences, you'll either want to take a couple of litres
of water or perhaps a sports drink with you. While you may wish to take small
snacks for each mountain to keep yourself going, it would be advisable to have your
drivers prepare a meal for your return to the car.
